It was 1948 when Marcello Danieli set up the Diadora company, specialising in mountaineering boots. Over the years Diadora, thanks to the purchase of new machinery and American production patents, evolved into a real factory, managing to maintain excellent quality, and with it fame at a national level. In the 1960s, the company made its mark in the world of sport by sponsoring famous tennis and football champions such as Björn Borg, Roberto Bettega, Marco Tardelli, Walter Zenga and Ben Johnson. This sponsorship campaign propelled Diadora into the international arena. Thanks to Diadora, the fashion for tennis shoes worn outside of a sporting context was also born, used by young people as a casual accessory. Today Diadora is one of the biggest brands in the world of sport, with sponsorship in all fields and a dense distribution network at international level, of which Spatarella is an official dealer.
